Speechify Premium price
On Speechify’s website, Premium costs:
- $139 a year, about $11.58 a month
- $29 a month if you pay monthly
Paying monthly comes to $348 a year, so the yearly plan is the one most people pick. Subscriptions bought in the App Store can have a different price, and trials usually last 3 or 7 days.

Is Speechify free?
Yes, with limits. The free plan doesn’t end and doesn’t ask for a card. It includes:
- 10 basic voices
- Speeds up to 1.5×
- Up to 5 files in your library, in the iPhone app
The voices most people install Speechify for, and faster speeds, need Premium.
Premium has a monthly word limit
Speechify says Premium includes up to 1,000,000 Premium voice words a month, guaranteed through 2026. That’s a lot of listening for most people. If you get through books and long reports, it’s a number to keep in mind.
How to cancel Speechify
If you subscribed on your iPhone
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Speechify.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Deleting the app doesn’t stop the payments. Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple, not Speechify.
If you paid on the website
Cancel from your account on Speechify’s website. The iPhone’s Settings won’t show that subscription.
If you mostly listen on your iPhone: Luni
Luni reads your PDFs, web articles, EPUB ebooks and pasted text out loud on the iPhone. It’s a different kind of app from Speechify: smaller, iPhone only for now, and built around one thing.
- No word limit. The voices run on the iPhone, so Luni Pro doesn’t count words or hours.
- No account. There’s nothing to sign up for or log into.
- Works on a plane. Once something is in your library, it plays with no signal.
