I’m starting to think that there are 100,000 Apps because in the iPhone land the flow is different that on the PC or a traditional software outlet.
Mostly because of the online availability and the in-famous Billboard with the TOP100 and categories in the App Store. This mean that the App Store brings the music industry model to the iPhone, where the radios/broadcasters always has to fill the bucket of media offered every day, every week. This is because there is a continuous hunger for new media. Not very different to the trend that we see on the App Store.
When you hear about 100k apps, probably the first thought is “saturation is near” but is not the case if you think that the App Store is feeding the appetite of hungry users for new Apps, every day, every week.
Obviously that there are a lot of repeated or really-similar Apps, or even the cases where they are merely one App split across different cities or whatever other bad reason to do a many apps instead of just one. Also you have the 10,000 ebooks, etc. Here you can read more about this.
My point is that if you bring an original App you are not really competing with the 100000 apps floating around, it will be a much smaller number! which is good news for us developers.
I hope to unveil my particular App which is a game named Break The Ice, this weekend i will post some screenshots.

Finally, the last encarnation of the iPhone will be a true mobile gaming experience. Looks like the 3.0 release will bring the possibility of buttons. This is definitively a good move, a lot of games require this kind of control. Obviously this will be a great advantage, having a better manual control an also the multitouchscreen plus the accelerometer.
It’s incredible to watch how shift occur in this business, 5 years ago nobody would believe that an Apple product will become a gaming platform.
This it’s great for games which use navigation like FPS, or for driving or racing games. I’m anxious to get my hands on this, i’m already developing a game but should start looking into this, too.

Well, i red about this a few minutes ago.
It’s similar to the Y2K, I can’t believe that the developers from twitter didn’t see this coming.
Why the used a 32bit integer to count every message? this is really simple to resolve, just moving on to a 64bit integer. to see it graphically:
a 32 bit integer can get to 2,147,483,647 (signed) messages
a 64 bit integer can go up to 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 messages

maybe it’s just hype, let’s see this should happen in a 2-3 hours more.

Yesterday was the first day on sale of iBadge. Should I post the sales here as the guy from iFart did?
I will first introduce you to iBadge:
The idea is really simple. iBadge is an iphone App intended to quickly select a card to show it to your friends … or enemies (hehe, not really).
You can add your face (or friend face) and your name to iBadge, and the you can pick a card for example you will find:
Then you can show the card with to your friends and laugh together.
I follow you…but what do you mean?
For example you are in a Bar with a bunch of your friends, and suddenly a good looking woman pass by. You grab your iPhone (or ipod Touch), select the PROFESSIONAL PHOTHOGRAPHER card from iBadge, and show it to her! Suddenly she fall in love with you, well that will be if your Brad Pitt. If you are not Brad Pit what you will get is her attention and a laugh.
There you go, iBadge helped you to break the ice.
